A major industrial enterprise in Inner Mongolia, Baotou, operates a desulfurization process that requires reliable and efficient feeding of lime-based powders into reaction pots. The existing conveying system suffered from frequent blockages, excessive dust emissions, and high maintenance costs, disrupting production schedules and raising safety concerns.

The customer faced several critical issues: (1) inconsistent material flow due to powder bridging and clogging in the feed hopper, (2) severe dust leakage causing environmental compliance risks and respiratory hazards for operators, (3) rapid wear of mechanical components from abrasive desulfurization agents, leading to frequent downtime and spare part replacement, and (4) lack of automated monitoring, resulting in manual intervention and inconsistent dosage control.

Headpowder designed and deployed a customized pot feeder conveying system tailored to the desulfurization application. The solution integrates a sealed pneumatic conveying line with a precision rotary valve feeder, ensuring steady material supply while eliminating dust escape. Wear-resistant alloy liners and hardened seals extend equipment life significantly. An intelligent control module with real-time flow monitoring and remote adjustment capabilities allows operators to maintain accurate dosing without manual checks. The system also features an automated cleaning mechanism to prevent caking and ensure continuous operation under varying humidity conditions.

After installation, the plant achieved uninterrupted material delivery with zero dust leakage, reducing maintenance intervals by more than 60% and improving overall process efficiency. The operator intervention was minimized, and the closed-loop control system maintained dosing accuracy within ±2% of set values. The project contributed to a safer working environment and lower operating costs.
